I first read this book over 20 years ago after I heard Terry Gross on Fresh Air interview the author Victor Villasenor. American novelist, short-story writer, biographer, and screenwriter. It's a good thing I read Rain of Gold first, because if I read Thirteen Senses first, I never would have read Rain of Gold.
